His extensive public sector interactions have seen him fundraise and manage a net asset value Portfolio worth over ZAR20 billion.
Parallel to the work done in the Unions investment arena, he is involved in ICT infrastructure projects that seek to provide innovative but reliable connectivity to government, closed communities and businesses at large. He is invested in IT security portfolios that connect cyber, electronic and forensic sectors linked to the Public and private sectors. Dr. Khumoetsile Moetse is a seasoned diplomat, social entrepreneur, and philanthropist with Double-Doctorate in Philosophy and Chaplaincy from the Trinity International University of Ambassadors and Humanitarianism from the Global International Alliance. She is a qualified Chartered Marketer (CMSA), and has a BBA Degree in Marketing Communications, a Diploma in Marketing from IMM, and a Diploma in Business Administration from the University of South Africa. On international women’s month and humanitarian day March 2019, she was awarded a UN Global Leadership Award during the United Nations CSW63 Conference that took place in New York for the sterling work she does in her sectors of influence and her positive impact on humanity. Dr. K (as lovingly known) started her career at the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) in 2001 as a Marketing Officer, and became a Relationship Manager and Advertising Manager, respectively. During her tenure at the dti, she worked on the establishment of the new dti brand, which was adopted by Parliament as a blueprint for all government departments. While at the dti, she also served as the Secretariat of the International Relations Committee where she facilitated the restructuring and repositioning of the dti brand in South Africa and foreign economic offices, promoting South Africa’s exports and attracting foreign direct investments into the country, marketing the BEE codes of good practice to multinationals and embassies operating in the country. Through her strategic marketing skills, she was part of the team that birthed and activated the South Africa Inc. brand, which culminated into the Proudly South Africa organisation and International Marketing Council (now called Brand SA).
The legacy she left behind was the new dti brand and the dti campus in Sunnyside, Pretoria which is based on the concept of Mapungubwe as the first trading hub in Africa. To date, her signature is engraved on the walls of the dti campus among that of former President Thabo Mbeki and Minister Alec Erwin who led the country’s economic transition at the time. Due to her high performance and results-driven attitude, Dr. K was head-hunted to set up Indalo Yethu in 2006 as an endorsement brand of the Department of Environment and Tourism; where she served as a General Manager: Marketing Communications. This, after successfully hosting the South African expo at the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD). @amb_khumoetsile In 2007, she was appointed as a Reputation Specialist and Senior Strategist for Telkom Ltd and headhunted for the same position by Eskom Holdings Ltd in 2008 where she made her mark as a renowned expert in shaping brands and safeguarding corporate and country reputations. Dr. K is a contributing writer in “The Internal Alignment Factor” by Cees Van Reel; and participated in the formation of Chapter 8 of the King 111 Commission ~ both publications are aimed at guiding organisations in leveraging stakeholder support and managing reputation risks. Other international publications she has produced that stand out include The Special Edition of Nelson Mandela’s Farewell Magazine, Impressions of an Icon – A Special Tribute to Nelson Mandela coffee table book and a pocket Guide for Daughters of Zion for Women.
She was an Executive Producer of Mother of the Nation documentary series as a tribute to Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, which was broadcast by SABC locally and syndicated to more than 100 countries during and post Mama Winnie’s send-off. Her love for writing has since grown and we can expect her to publish books and produce documentaries and talk shows soon. In recognition of her contribution towards the country’s image, socio-economic impact and influence on policies, the Minister of Arts and Culture appointed Dr. K to a Parliamentary Advisory Committee called the Local Content Task Team in 2013, as the country prepared for digital migration. The task team worked closely with SABC, MASA, ICASA, CNBC and MultiChoice in charting the country’s transition towards DTT and restructuring the television, film and broadcasting industry. It is her sterling work herein that led to the Minister of Communications appointing her as the National Chairperson for Local Content from 2014, and her leadership resulted in the Mzansi Golden Economy strategy, “90/10” policy for local content, and Copyrights Amendment Bill. She currently advices various structures that are charting the way and providing training on the fourth industrial revolution (4IR). It is this journey that birthed her passion and investment drive in television, film, and broadcast media. Now the Executive Chairperson of Inure Africa Group, Founder of Black Pearls Foundation (which owns the Women Matter Cup), Patron of World Youth Summit and General Partner of Africa Media Fund.
